SAMSON AFOLABI

Born in Nigeria, I completed my Bsc. Mathematics program at the premier university in Nigeria, University of Ibadan. I went on to participate in the 1 year service program, NYSC serving as a research assistant to a the Deputy Vice Chancellor at the Sokoto State University. 

My love for Mathematics, made me decide to pursue a Masters in Mathematics at the University of Hamburg, Germany. After my Masters, I decided to attend Data Science Retreat, Berlin to get more hands on experience and learn industry practice in data science. 

Previously, I worked as a Data Scientist at BASF, Berlin where I supported the various SDU's to identify use cases for Data Science, developed Statistical learning methods and predictive models as well as proactively sharing information and best practices within the BASF Data Science Community.

In 2022, I joined ShareNow (Largest free-floating Car Sharing Company in Europe) in the Sales,Marketing and Customer LifeCycle  Management department as a Data Scientist building tools like Customer Segmentation, Monthly Customer Forecast, Mix Marketing Model etc.

Today, I work as the Team Lead Marketing Analytics at ShareNow and Free2Move. In this role, I provide guidance and data insights to the overall marketing strategies of ShareNow and Free2Move for all Cities and Countries Free2move operates in. 

I also teach Data Science at Data Science Retreat,Berlin. I love everything data science, Artificial Intelligence, and Applied Mathematics. 

In 2023, I started a Youtube Channel, where I share experiences on my Data Science Journey.
